May
Horoscope 2013
by Larry Martin
Aries
Sun –
Can it really be all about the money? This month it is. During the first
ten days of May, teams of planets moving through your second solar house
test your values. This can come about through any frustrating conversation
or event that seems to push the limits of your patience. Anytime we
experience an event that isn’t what we would wish for, we have to stop
and ask why. “Contrast” would be the most clear, non-judgmental
reason. Contrast teaches us what we
don’t want, so we can be clear about what
we do want.
Taurus
Sun
– You could feel as if you’re getting it in spades this month as two
thirds of the eclipse energy is in your sign. If you hesitated this year
to get your chart progressed, your opportunity to gain foresight
diminishes with time. Your sign plus Gemini will have this energy
ingrained in your birthday chart all year! Your birth hour will determine
how best to proceed (if you don’t know your birth hour, I can rectify
your chart). The middle of the month has the solar eclipse divulging new
events that may force you to abandon your status quo. Mars, Uranus and
Pluto are all quite active – forcing old patterns to step aside in the
wake of a new movement. Saturn can help those born April 26 to May 2, but
you might not like how that’s accomplished.
Gemini
Sun –
Like Taurus, the more powerful eclipse on the 24th will have
long ranging impact on your sign. For the next several months, those of
you born before May 29 will have the eclipse over the Sun. The eclipse
will also try to negotiate a challenging aspect to Neptune, which can
deliver confusion to those not in the know. Neptune involves your more
spiritual side. Matters of the heart, love relationships, art and music
all benefit. For the majority of Geminis, this spells trouble since many
of you are logic driven and expect life to behave rationally. The first 20
days of May help you build up to the changes through dreams and intuitive
“hunches”. Those of you who meditate (or practice yoga) will literally
be able to see what’s ahead as long as you don’t over-analyze it. Doom
and gloomers write that your 12th solar house predicts karma
reaping; but most of you will experience the odd hunches of a true seer.
Cancer
Sun –There
are two energies at work this month: The earthly and the spiritual.
On the earthly side, new groups and friendships help you build new
pathways of abundance. On the spiritual side, angels have been whispering
about healthier ways to living. Your sign is known for strength produced
from emotion. If you feel good about yourself, things work out. If you
feel angry or frustrated with yourself, then your choices may echo that
anger. Neptune enters a pivotal angle with all three of the eclipses
toward your sign. Music and art become healing forces, but only with
healthy diet choices.
Leo
Sun – This
can be a difficult eclipse period for you, but it doesn’t need to be. If
your birthday is before August 3rd, you have to pay close
attention. This juncture of planets to the Sun includes Mars and Saturn.
This indicates that your frustration with other people could be at an
all-time high. Deep breathing and scheduling FAR in advance is the best
way to handle the energy. No one should rush you – all will happen in
its own time. If you’re in a hurry, stop right now. Mars wants
everything this hot second. Saturn says you have to wait. If you think you
cannot have it both ways, you’re right! Waiting is always the primary
choice when inside an eclipse path.
Virgo
Sun –
Times have been better of late, as several planets have been moving
through fellow earth sign, Taurus. This creates good opportunities to
steer into a more productive routine. What’s been a problem is that the
2012 part of you has wanted change without moving far from habits of the
past. What has been needed is a wider point of view. New in 2013, you’re
on the edge of new beginnings once July arrives. August Virgos can then
celebrate Jupiter’s arrival in Cancer. The largest planet in our solar
system hasn’t done well in Gemini, but will redeem itself in the sign of
the crab. This translates into benefits for Virgo, if you refuse to throw
caution to the wind. After May 19, you’ll have to pay attention to all
that you have gained since April. If you feel like you haven’t gained
anything, you need your chart a.s.a.p., before you take on bigger setbacks
in June.
Libra
Sun –
Oh, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of excitement in life even
though the eclipses look to be passing you by! The first half of May might
look quiet, but it’s really taking a toll on those around you. Mercury
passes by Uranus on its trip through your opposite sign of Aries. This
places conversations and meeting with others at a high priority. Others
may dump truck loads of issues at your feet – but you can decline
offering suggestions until they relax and quiet down. A lot of what occurs
during eclipses is meant to get people’s attention. True, there are
disasters such as an increase in earthquakes and bizarre behavior by crazy
people; but you don’t really have to be a part of this.
Scorpio
Sun
– News stories can get pretty weird around the time of an eclipse. With
every Scorpio born before November 1 getting hit by the first eclipse and
then every Scorpio born in November getting it from the solar eclipse,
there’s way too much going on to be concerned for other zodiac signs.
That’s right, it’s time for you to pay close attention to what hour
you were born. For most morning births, you are looking at a collision
between relationships that are bringing in too much drama. For those born
around noon, you’re looking at job changes that may have been long
overdue. For evening born Scorpios, you need to decide who has the control
in your relationships with others (ie. do you really know what’s going
on?). For those born in the middle of the night, there’s a need to watch
financial matters more closely and decide what habits need changing.
Sagittarius
Sun
– Once a season, you’re convinced that humanity isn’t worth saving.
From your high philosophy and your emphasis on learning new subjects,
there are times when you don’t have an answer. This is the perfect month
to plan a getaway or a short vacation. As the eclipse patterns poke around
in both your health and job areas, you have to be more cautious about the
“unseen” things in life. Your 6th solar house is where the
bulk of activity is. This means that the obvious things, such as your
health and job situations demand some kind of action on your part to
insure that “the good stays good and the bad gets gone”. There’s
just less and less room for unproductive habits, especially if you’re
aware of what’s going on. [Note for November Sagittarians: the need to
address relationship issues is more immediate from May 22-26.] Eclipses
wake us up to issues we didn’t know were problems. Open discussions with
loved ones, friends and kindred can all be enlightening experiences. In
part, it’s relief from pressure that you’re supposed to have all of
the answers.
Capricorn
Sun
– Quiet months seem impossible to come by this year, but this month has
great potential. Eclipse patterns not involving your sign raise your
awareness of the plight of others. It’s a sensitivity few write about
that exist for mountain goats. Sure, your logic and managerial skills are
legendary, but not when others ignore them. Eclipses bring us into
awareness of how others bring attention to the things in life we don’t
want. Goals can be re-aligned, friendships rekindled and work planned for.
What we can’t figure out is why patience is the best path when others
rush foolishly into life. Your sign is one of few who understands that we
make our own destiny.
Aquarius
Sun –
Imbalance comes from our resistance to what’s good for us. Why would
anyone resist what’s good for them? Our habit patterns from the past are
usually the culprit. When Aquarians harvest a good idea, they usually
stick to it – for years! When the times change and call for new ideas,
you can be at the forefront, but not if it requires letting go of the
familiar. Eclipses jolt our view of reality by introducing issues that
require change. It’s a simple concept to talk about, but difficult to
embrace without reservation. The firs ten days of May hold multiple
problems for your sign. All Aquarians have the solar eclipse changing
their reality (February Aquarians have it rougher this month) by forcing
the acceptance of a new reality.
Pisces
Sun –
Your month might appear a bit backward from most other signs, in that the
eclipses from April to May 10 are favorable, and the last one of the
period (May 24) provides challenges with family issues. The first half of
the month aligns both the eclipse from late April and Saturn to inspire
you to take conservative approaches that offer wisdom and patience. This
provides great advice to others as well as to yourself in matters ranging
from finance to cooperation. Too bad good streaks can’t last forever!
Regardless of how you enjoy the first few days, by May 16th,
there’s a noticeable shift as Mercury enters Gemini, joining Venus and
Jupiter. Normally, that’s good news, but for your sign, it’s a marker
of how people will drift beyond common sense when allowed to do so.
